The Violence Prevention and Transformation Research Collaborative (VPTRC) at the University of Washington Tacoma will host its annual training event on Friday, December 12, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. in William Philip Hall (WPH).

This year’s program, Inside Threat Assessment: Insights from the U.S. Secret Service and Local Experts, will feature national and local leaders sharing best practices for school safety and violence prevention. Presentations will highlight the latest research, in-depth case studies, and multidisciplinary strategies to address targeted violence through education, law enforcement, social work, and public safety perspectives.

The event is free and open to the UW community and the public, with a suggested donation of $25 to support VPTRC’s ongoing work. Morning refreshments and a light lunch will be provided.
