This week, schools across the nation are recognizing Safe Schools Week, a time to celebrate the efforts of educators, students, and communities working together to create safe and supportive learning environments.
Here at NWESD 189’s School Safety and Wellness Center, safety isn’t just a week-long focus—it’s a year-round commitment. We are proud to partner with school districts across Northwest Washington to provide training, technical assistance, and resources that strengthen threat assessment teams, improve behavioral health supports, and enhance emergency preparedness.
Safe Schools Week is a reminder that every student deserves to feel safe, connected, and supported. Through collaboration and prevention-focused programs, NWESD 189 continues to help schools build the foundations of safety and wellness—today and every day.
