The SSWC is proud to offer: C.A.R.E. Training (Compassionate Assessment and Response in Education), an in-person, three-hour youth suicide prevention course at NWESD 189.

Designed for school psychologists, counselors, nurses, and social workers in Washington state, the C.A.R.E. training will:

  • Address how staff might notice a student is in psychological distress
  • Provide scripts and strategies for appropriate interventions
  • Give resources for responding if a member of the school community dies by suicide
  • Touch on how to care for yourself while doing this important and difficult work
  • Use scenarios including cultural considerations to apply and discuss approaches

C.A.R.E. is approved by the Washington State PESB to fulfill ESA certificate holder training requirements.
