There are only a few days left of school – but even as you are wrapping things up for the 2024-2025 schoolyear, it’s not too soon to start planning for 2025-2026.

This August, the SSWC is offering three FREE opportunities for school and district teams to strengthen their safety systems through comprehensive threat assessment training. Sessions will be held on August 22nd, 25th, and 27th at NWESD’s Anacortes campus. Courses will be the same material on each date, so pick the one that works best for you.

These 4-hour trainings are designed for administrators, counselors, psychologists, school resource officers, and other key team members who are involved in identifying and responding to concerning student behavior. Participants will leave with a clear understanding of:

  • The fundamentals of behavioral threat assessment
  • The structure and roles of a multidisciplinary threat assessment team
  • Best practices for identifying, assessing, and managing threats
  • Documentation strategies and compliance considerations
  • Trauma-informed and equity-centered approaches to intervention

Whether you’re building a new threat assessment team, training new staff, or updating your own understanding of best practices in threat management, the SSWC will provide your staff with the tools and confidence to respond effectively and appropriately to student safety concerns.

Spots are limited—and these sessions tend to fill quickly. Let’s work together to keep our schools safe, supportive, and prepared.
