Exciting news for schools across Northwest Washington! NWESD 189 School Safety and Wellness Center (SSWC) is partnering with Skagit Domestic Violence & Sexual Assault Services (DVSAS) to offer the Team Up Washington program to schools across Northwest Washington. This initiative focuses on preventing dating violence and promoting healthy relationships among students, while also empowering student-athletes to be positive leaders in their communities.

Team Up Washington combines research-backed curricula with interactive lessons and activities. It includes programs like Athletes as Leaders and Coaching Boys into Men, which engage student-athletes and coaches to model respect, accountability, and healthy relationships. By leveraging the influence of sports, these programs teach young athletes to challenge harmful behaviors and create a safe, inclusive school culture.
Dates and details will be announced shortly.
Regional school athletic administrators will soon receive an email from us about this opportunity to connect directly. Alternatively, schools interested in bringing Team Up Washington to their students or learning more about these programs can contact the SSWC. Together with Skagit DVSAS, we’re empowering youth to be leaders both on and off the field, fostering a generation of respectful, responsible, and compassionate community members.
