Educators and safety partners across Washington—you’re invited! NWESD 189’s School Safety & Wellness Center (SSWC) is re-launching our monthly virtual gathering designed to bring us together in a casual space to connect, ask questions, and learn from one another.
When: September 18, and every third Thursday of the month (10:00–11:00 am)
Where: Zoom – link available in the flyer below
Each month, we’ll shine a spotlight on a timely issue or initiative impacting schools in our region. Past conversations have covered critical topics like Alyssa’s Law, Student Threat Management, Suicide Intervention, and Handle With Care.
But that’s just the start. These sessions also include time for your questions and district-specific challenges. For example:
- Have questions about student threat assessments?
- Need support with a reunification drill?
- Looking for updated behavioral health resources?
- Feeling overwhelmed by new legislation and OSPI guidance?
You’re not alone—we’re here to help.
Our kick-off session on September 18 (10:00am) will welcome new and returning staff, share an overview of the professional development opportunities and initiatives supported by the SSWC this school year, and give a preview of the exciting work ahead.
Together, we’ll build safer, more supportive schools and communities. We can’t wait to connect with you!
